Yeah, still no pics, but working on that.  Zach will be here in about 7 hours and we are all excited to see him.  Jamison is very excited to see his brother again.  Been a bit sick the last few days and haven't slept well in over a week - which is why I think I am feeling sick.  Anyway going to work out tonight anyway as I have not had a good one since last Thursday.  Going to take Zach to Zumba next week, I really think he will enjoy it - that is to be determined.

Jamison was VIP at school this week and took a poster about him and has been taking some things for show and tell each day.  Friday, they do an activity and have treats.  This whole thing is to celebrate the kids birthdays and let the kids learn about each other.

Work is normal, but I need to figure out how to make it a happier place to work.  All the changes over the past 9 months have taken a toll and the natives are restless.

Started watching Downton Abbey and got through season one.  I was hesitant at first but I have been sucked in and now am excited to get through season two and catch up to what is currently on TV in season 3.  Also need season 3 of Raising Hope another show that I really like.  Loving Netflix and am tempted to dump cable and just use Netflix all the time.

I have almost finished the Hobbit, only a few pages left.  Then I will need to figure out what to read next.  I am attempting to get through my entire library in the next year or so.

Ok, that is all for now.  I'll check in later.

Ok, New Year's resolution - actually blog at least once a week.  Today is only two days into 2013.  Had a good time yesterday sledding with the family, until my car got stuck.  Need better tires.  It was nice spending time with the family all day and not worrying about work.  I was also able to get 90 minutes of Zumba in.

Today was back to the grind.  I was able to make progress with stuff at work.  It is amazing at how people think they know how to make things work better than you except they don't know the changes involved in what they want to do.  Oh well, overall a good day.  Pizza and salad for dinner, watched the pilot for the original Star Trek which I don't think I have ever seen.  Played some games with the family.  Only one week and Zach will be here, looking forward to that.

I will post some pics from the holidays when I get them downloaded and/or find them on our computer.

Recent Pics

Yeah, yeah!! I know my titles are not very creative. Oh well, you can deal. These are just some random pics, mostly of Jamison since Julie has banned me from posting her pics.

In November we went to LA and got to tour the Jim Henson Studios. Thanks Jenna. While there Brian Henson's assistant took us around the lot. She took us to his office where we got to hold the Emmy for Farscape, I think it was. We also got to see the recording studio where such great bands as Metallica have recorded, and we visited the different areas and got to see some muppets and even try one out. Pretty cool...

So as you can see in the one Jamison likes Twinkies. I think its cause of the sugar rush... No the Twinkie is not visible with the exception of that which he didn't get in his mouth. It was funny to see him grub on it. I hope he remembers the taste cause it will be the last one for a while.

So, Rhonda bought Jamison a Moose at the Build a Bear place. He appropriately named it Moo. Well Moo is like a baby for Jamison and here you see him changing his diaper. Maybe he's ready for a baby brother??? And no I am not implying we are pregnant, just making a statement.

I don't really know how this got started, but I got this tunnel thing of his over my head and he decided to climb in. It is a great game for him I guess as he likes to rock back and forth while we are in there. He also is in a close proximity to my face and mouth which he likes to poke, pull and probe with his little hands.

This is Valentines Day breakfast, not the little heart shaped pancakes Julie made. We had bigger ones for us. It was really cute and he is getting into the holidays and noticing them more. I love my boys... I am proud of both of them and love the time I am able to spend with them.

Cincinnati Trip

Well, I am definitely not as up to date on this blog thing as Julie. However, I have finally remembered to update this thing while at home where all the pics are. In January I was able to go out to Kentucky to visit Zach. We spent the long weekend in Cincinnati and just hung out around there. We had a lot of fun and got to see some pretty cool stuff. The best part of the trip for me was to just spend time with him.

This is Zach on his bed at the hotel which was actually pretty nice. We had wireless so we could play WoW after our long days out and about. We also had a fridge that would freeze anything you put in it and the control was broken so you couldn't change the temp. It was fun to try to poor a drink out of a frozen gallon of water.

This one was outside the aquarium on the river. Unfortunately, his eyes are closed and my 2nd chin is making an appearance. It was bloody cold there and we snapped some quick pics before we went inside to defrost.

This is Zach in the aquarium. That is supposed to be a whale jumping behind him, but that didn't really turn out. Obviously, I am not a professional photographer. The aquarium was definitely larger than the one we have in SLC, and it was really cool. I think the worst part of the trip was when we went in to the bird section and one of the little buggers got Zach lined up in his sites and bombed him. Luckily they were little birds not a crane or something. Anyway, you can see pics of that incident and the feathery little culprit in the blog Julie does.

This one was when we visited the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Since it was not that busy we got to take our time and just dink around at our own pace. This is from one of the World Series they won. It was a pretty cool place. We got to throw the ball from a pitching mound they had set up inside and it would tell you how fast you were throwing. Zach was up in the mid 70s, and mine was in the mid 40s. LOL, I guess we know which of us can actually pitch.

This one I think was at the Freedom center which we visited on MLK Day. It was very interesting and had some good presentations to explain the collaboration necessary and risks many people took to help slaves make it to freedom. As I said we had a good time, we went to the Dancing with the Stars tour which was really cool. Zach thought Laci was pretty hot, and I think that was why he liked this event. :-) Before the show we went to Benni Hana's and grubbed. We sat at a table with a couple and three women and the food was great. The same three women also sat behind us at the show. It was weird. Some other activities we had were going to Dave and Busters which is like a Chucky Cheese for older people, and it was pretty fun. We got to play a game that we used to play when Zach was 5 or 6. We also went to see a movie and of course we had to hit BW3s on the way to take him home. As always the trip was too short. I hope that he will be able to come out for a little bit this summer to see us.

Merry Christmas

Well it is that time of year again. I am enjoying the season so far, especially seeing Jamison's reaction to everything. The major downer I have this time of year is the fact that Zach is in Kentucky. I really wish he could be here with us and I miss him terribly. I attached a pic of Zach at an Escape the Fate concert with the bassist(these guys are actually pretty good). I don't have the other pics of Julie and Jamison available since I am at work (on lunch) and they are on the home cpu. So I will add another post with those pics. I love my family and wish everyone a Happy Holiday season.

First Posting

Ok, this is my first posting, and like "Seinfeld" it is about nothing. This is more of an introduction than anything. I am married to Julie and I have two wonderful boys. Zach, the oldest, is from a previous marriage with my late wife Jill. Jamison, the toddler, is with Julie. Julie and I have been married for 2.5 years, but it seems longer, in a good way. I love my family very much and am an extremely proud father.

Zach currently lives in Kentucky and is in high school, wow that makes me feel old saying that. He plays baseball, his team went to state last year, he is an exceptional student, and he is a member of his school's chamber choir. I believe he is a well rounded young man. Currently, he and some of his friends are pursuing the rock band, not a boy band like the "Backstreet Boys", but an actual band, with instruments and everything, more in the neighborhood of "Avenged Sevenfold".

Jamison lives in Utah with his mom and I. He is a year and a half old, yeah I know a big difference in age. He talks like crazy and is a very active little boy around the house. He loves cars, animals, music, his picture of his brother and much more. It seems like he is developing and growing in leaps and bounds. Just a short time ago he was so dependent upon his parents for everything, and now he is becoming so independent.

Julie is the glue of the family. She makes sure we all get fed, takes care of the finances, and most household stuff. She is a very good cook, which accounts for my weight gain. Every holiday she makes a special care package to send to Zach which is filled with goodies. I know Zach looks forward to these as he likes to tell me about them. She does a great job as a mother and a wife. Before I interrupted her life she worked with special needs adults in the LA area.

I currently work at Western Governors University, WGU from here on out, in Salt Lake City where I work with student teachers and help to prepare them for the fulfilling, if underpaid, world of educating this country's youth. I do have my teaching degree, a BA in Geography teaching with a minor in history, and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Science education through WGU. I love my job, but I also love teaching high school. I love sports - watching, playing and coaching. I love to learn new stuff. I love spending time with the family.

Anyway, that's good for now. You will learn more as I continue on. If I offend you then sorry, I'm not perfect some of the time. :-) This is more of a therapy for me to look at my life and see where I have come and where I am going.
